5 (64 mg, 1 eq) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (5 ml) and to that was added dropwise I2 (39 mg, 1.1 eq) in 2 ml of CH2Cl2, the resulting mixture was stirred at RT for 1 h before hydrolysis with 5 ml of Na2S2O3 10%. Extraction was performed using CH2Cl2 (2×5 ml) with drying over Na2SO4 and concentrating was carried out in vacuum. Purification by flash chromatography (SiO2, hexane/AcOEt, 9/1) was used to give 6 as a white solid in 15% yield.
