Reaction Steps
To a solution of 2-{[1-(cyclopropylmethyl)-2-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)-1H-benzimidazol-5-yl]sulfonyl}-2-methylpropan-1-ol (Step H, 356 mg, 0.94 mmol) in dichloromethane (8 mL) were added triethylamine (157 μL, 1.13 mmol) and methanesulfonyl chloride (87 μL, 1.13 mmol) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The reaction mixture was quenched with water (10 mL) and extracted with dichloromethane (30 mL×3). The combined organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the crude title compound (411 mg) as yellow oil.
