Reaction Steps
6-Amino-5-benzyloxy-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (65, step E) (500 mg) is suspended in ethanol (15 mL). Water (10 mL) is added, followed by KOH (1M, 5 mL). The suspension is stirred at 75° C. for 2.5 h. The solvent is evaporated to afford 6-amino-5-benzyloxy-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid.
