Procedure

1,4-dimethyl-2-(4-(3,7-dimethyloctyloxy)phenyl)naphthalene was prepared in accordance with the case of 6-(4-(3,7-dimethyloctyloxy)phenyl)naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxylic-acid diethyl ester described above, but using 1,4-dimethyl-2-bromonaphthalene, as a raw material, which was obtained by brominating 1,4-dimethylnaphtalene with Br2. 1,4-dimethyl-2-(4-(3,7-dimethyloctyloxy)phenyl)naphthalene was dissolved in carbon tetrachloride, and reacted to NBS to obtain 1,4-bis(bromomethyl)-2-{4-(3,7-dimethyloctyloxy)phenyl}naphthalene was obtained.

Workup

  1. customas a raw material, which was obtained
