20 mg (0.045 mmol) of 4-ethoxy-2-methoxy-5-(5-methyl-4-oxo-7-propyl-3,4-dihydroimidazo-[5,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-2-yl)-benzenesulphonyl chloride are dissolved in 0.5 ml of dichloromethane and admixed with a spatula tip of dimethylaminopyridine and 14 mg (0.136 mmol) of N-methylpiperazine, and the reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature overnight. Purification over silica gel gives 12.8 mg (55%) of 2-[2-ethoxy-4-methoxy-5-(4-methylpiperazine-1-sulphonyl)phenyl]-5-methyl-7-propyl-3H-imidazo[5,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-4-one.
