To a solution of 1-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester (0.42 g, 1.6 mmol) (as prepared in Example 40, step (a)) in MeOH (3.0 mL) was added 1N NaOH (1.6 mL) and mixture was stirred for 8 h at RT. The reaction was concentrated to give 0.43 g (100%) of the title compound as a white solid. Mass spectrum (ESI, m/z): Calcd. for C10H18N2O3Si, 243.1 (M+H), found 243.1.
