Procedure

10 g of product of Step B in 200 ml of acetic acid were refluxed for 57 hours and the solution was allowed to return to ambient temperature. Then, 200 ml of water were added followed by filtration. The orange product was washed with water and then was dissolved in a mixture of 250 ml of ethyl acetate and 500 ml of tetrahydrofuran. The mixture was dried and 1 g of active carbon was added. After filtering and concentrating to dryness under reduced pressure, 8.3 g of residue were obtained which was crystallized from 240 ml of ethyl acetate. The crystals were filtered hot, cooled, separated, dried under reduced pressure at 40° C. for 16 hours. 5.3 g of expected product were obtained, melting at 242° C.
