Procedure

This material was prepared in 32% yield by reduction of 2-benzylthio-5,7-dichloro-6-methyl-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine with zinc-copper couple following the general procedure described in Example 21. The desired product was isolated as a solid, m.p. 179°-181° C. IR and 1H NMR spectra were in agreement with the assigned structure.
