(S)-2-(N-t-Butoxycarbonylamino)-3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-1-morpholin-4-yl-propan-1-one (3.1 mmol) was dissolved in 4M HCl-dioxane at 0° C. and the resulting suspension stirred at 25° C. for 1 hour. The mixture was concentrated and the residue triturated with ether. Yield, 776 mg, 88%; HPLC (60/40) 2.31 minutes (99%).
