Procedure
Palladium on carbon (0.01 g) is added to a solution of 6-chloro-benzo[b]thiophene-2-sulfonic acid [1-(4-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-2-oxopyrrolidin-3-(S)-yl]-amide in 95% ethanol (5 mL) and charged with H2 gas. The mixture is heated at 65° C. overnight then cooled to room temperature and filtered through Celite. The solvent is removed and the crude product is purified by RP-HPLC eluting with a gradient of 10% CH3CN/H2O (0.1% TFA) to 100% CH3CN. The appropriate product fractions are lyophilized to give the title compound as a white solid.
