Procedure
126 g of melamine was added to 324 g of a 37% aqueous solution of formaldehyde which was previously adjusted the pH to 9.0 by a 2% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. The mixture was stirred at 70° C. to dissolve melamine, then 450 g of water at 70° C. was added, and after stirring for 2 minutes, an aqueous solution of melamine-formaldehyde prepolymer was obtained by cooling to room temperature.
