To 1.02 g of 6-bromo-7-methyl-quinoline were added a solution of 20 ml of tert-butylzincbromide acetate and 0.58 g of Pd(PPh3)4. The mixture was placed in the microwave reactor for 30 min to achieve a temperature of 120° C. (repeated for 3 times.). Purification via flash column chromatography returned the title compound (3.2 g, 68%). 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) δ 8.84 (m, 1H), 8.07 (m, 1H), 7.89 (s, 1H), 7.63 (s, 1H), 7.31 (m, 1H), 3.72 (s, 2H), 2.51 (s, 3H), 1.46 (s, 9H).
