To a solution of (2S)-5-(2-azidoethyl)-6-nitro-1,3-dihydrospiro[indene-2,3′-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin]-2′(1′H)-one from Step F (236 mg, 0.67 mmol) in EtOH (15 mL) was added 10% Pd/C (172 mg). The reaction mixture was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere (ca. 1 atm) for 5 h, then filtered through a Celite pad, washing with MeOH, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound. MS: m/z=295 (M+1).
