To a solution of phenylmethyl ({(3S,4S)-1-[2-(7-fluoro-2-oxo-1,5-naphthyridin-1(2H)-yl)ethyl]-4-hydroxy-3-pyrrolidinyl}methyl)carbamate (1.7 g; 3.85 mmol) was added 10% Pd/C, degassed and placed under 1 atm of H2 for 18 h. The reaction mixture was filtered through Celite and concentrated to obtain the title compound as a yellow oil (1.3 g; 100%).
