A mixture of heptylamine (1.15 g) and N-cyano-N'-[2-[[[5-(dimethylamino)methyl-2-furanyl]methyl]thio]ethyl]carbamimidothioic acid (3.12 g) was heated on an oil bath for 12 hr at 100°. The product was chromatographed (silica/methanol) to give N-cyano-N'-[2-[[[5-dimethylamino)methyl-2-furanyl]methyl]thio]ethyl]-N"-heptylguanidine hydrate (2.31g) Rf 0.49. Analysis Found: C, 56.99; H, 8.32; N, 17.53. C19H33N5OS.H2O requires: C, 57.43; H, 8.81; N, 17.63%.
