6-Chloro-8-ethyl-7-methyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazin-3-ylamine (W2.008, 273 mg) was dissolved in abs. ethanol (20 ml) while stirring. Thereafter, the reaction mixture was admixed with sodium ethoxide (176 mg) and stirred at RT for 3.5 h. After standing over the weekend, the solvent was drawn off, and the residue was admixed with water and extracted three times with dichloromethane. The combined organic phases were dried over sodium sulfate and, after the desiccant had been filtered off, dried under reduced pressure. 230 mg of the title compound were obtained.
