3-[2-Amino-7-fluoro-3-(tetrahydro-pyran-4-ylmethyl)-quinolin-6-ylsulfanyl]-benzaldehyde (40 mg, 0.1 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (1 mL), and then 2-ethoxybenzyl amine (60 μL, 0.38 mmol) was added. The resulting mixture was subjected to μW @ 300W, 130° C. for 12 min. NaBH4 (50 mg, 1.3 mmol) was then added portionwise over 1.5 h. The solvent was removed to yield a residue, to which was added 0.1 N NaOH (5 mL). The resulting mixture was extracted with chloroform (3×). The organic layers were combined and dried with MgSO4 and filtered. The solvent was removed to yield a second residue which was purified on silica gel (2-10% MeOH/dichloromethane) to yield the title compound as a residue.
