Deprotection of tert-butyl 2-(3-(pyridin-2-ylethynyl)phenoxy)ethylcarbamate with HCl-dioxane following the method used in Example 13 gave 2-(3-(pyridin-2-ylethynyl)phenoxy)ethanamine hydrochloride as a white solid.
