Coupling of pent-4-yn-2-ol with bromide 10 following the method used in Example 13 except the reaction was conducted at room temperature gave 2,2,2-trifluoro-N-(3-(3-(4-hydroxypent-1-ynyl)phenyl)propyl)acetamide as a pale yellow oil. Yield (0.95 g, 63%): 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 9.40 (br s, 1H), 7.14-7.26 (m, 4H), 4.80 (s, 1H), 3.81 (q, J=5.6 Hz, 1H), 3.16 (q, J=6.8 Hz, 2H), 2.54 (t, J=5.6 Hz, 2H), 2.39 (dd, J=16.8, 6.8 Hz, 2H), 1.76 (quint, J=7.2 Hz, 2H), 1.17 (d, J=5.6 Hz, 3H).
