Reaction Steps

7-Iodo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine (300 mg) was reacted with phenyl acetyl chloride as in General Procedure 2 to give the title compound as a pale yellow foam (31% yield). M.p. (foam), LCMS: m/z=379.86 (M+H+), 1H-NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz) δ 3.32-3.45 (m, 2H), 3.75-3.85 (m, 2H), 3.87 (s, 2H), 5.25 (bs, 1H), 7.21-7.38 (m, 5H), 8.01 (s, 1H).
