Procedure
To a −78° C. solution of the product of Example 1A (7.13 g, 26.4 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (120 mL) was added diethylaminosulfur trifluoride (DAST, 6.0 g, 4.89 mL, 37.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to ambient temperature, quenched with water, diluted with ethyl acetate, and washed with water. The organic layer was separated and concentrated. The resulting residue was chromatographed on silica gel, eluting with 0%-30% ethyl acetate-hexane to obtain the title compound (3.0 g, 42%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 1.69-1.77 (m, 2H), 1.86 (td, J=12.89, 4.75 Hz, 2H), 2.15-2.40 (m, 4H), 3.91 (s, 4H), 7.44 (ddd, J=8.14, 4.75, 0.68 Hz, 1H), 7.96 (dd, J=7.97, 1.53 Hz, 1H), 8.52 (dt, J=4.75, 1.19 Hz, 1H). MS (DCI) m/z 272.05 (M+H)+.
