31.3 g 1-Benzyl-4-pyridin-3-yl-piperazin was hydrogenated at 5 bar on 4 g 10% palladium on charcoal in 300 mL methanol at 50° C. for 25 h. The reaction was filtered. The filtrate was evaporated and purified by chromatography on silica gel (dichlormethane/methanol/ammonia (9/1/0.1)). 12.5 g of the desired compound was obtained.
