Into a 50-mL 3-necked round-bottom flask, was placed a solution of tert-butyl 3-((3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)carbamoyl)azetidine-1-carboxylate (105 mg, 0.24 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in dichloromethane (4 mL). The resulting solution was bubbled with HCl (gas) and stirred for 30 min at 0° C. The resulting solids were collected by filtration to yield N-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)azetidine-3-carboxamide hydrochloride as a yellow solid.
