Into a 50-mL 3-necked round-bottom flask, was placed a solution of tert-butyl 3-(3-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)ureido)pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (120 mg, 0.26 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in dichloromethane (4 mL). The solution was bubbled with HCl (g) at 0° C. in 30 min. The resulting solution was stirred for 30 min at 0° C. The solids were collected by filtration. The solid was washed with ethyl acetate/methanol (2×3.8 mL) to yield 1-(3-(methylthio)-1-phenyl-1H-indazol-6-yl)-3-(pyrrolidin-3-yl)urea hydrochloride as a white solid.
