To a solution of benzofuran-2-sulfonic acid (5-chloro-2-mercapto-phenyl)-amide (332 mg, 0.98 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 ml) at −78° C. was added 3,3-dimethyl-1-(trifluoromethyl)-1,2-benziodoxole (CAS #: 887144-97-0, 354 mg, 1.07 mmol) and the reaction was stirred for 1 h, and was concentrated in vacuo. The crude product was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (CH2Cl2) to give the title compound (375 mg, 94%).
