6-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)-2-phenylquinazoline, 275 mg (1 mmol), is dissolved in EtOH (15 mL) at reflux, 90 mg (1 mmol) of oxalic acid are added, the mixture is stirred for 30 min. and is then allowed to cool to room temperature and is left to stand for 3 days while allowing the solution to evaporate slowly, and the resulting material is filtered and dried at 30° C., 20 mmHg, for 8 hours. 180 mg of product are obtained, XRPD: Form A. TGA: no weight loss up to 230° C. H-NMR (d6-DMSO) δ: 9.73 (s, 1H), 8.60-8.58 (m, 2H), 8.48 (d, 1H), 8.43 (d, 1H), 8.24 (d, 1H), 8.00 (s, 1H), 7.60-7.58 (m, 3H), 7.24 (s, 1H).
