To the solution of 1-(4-{[4-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]oxy}phenyl)ethanol (50 mg, 0.158 mmol) in DCM (1.5 mL), was added thionyl chloride (0.1 mL, 1.378 mmol) dropwise. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. After removing the solvent, the residue was dissolved in DCM, then washed with water twice, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound (50 mg, 95% yield). LCMS: rt=3.63 min, [M+H+]=299
