Reaction Steps
Triethylamine (3.10 ml, 22.4 mmol) is added to a suspension of 1-amino-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid amide (1.25 g, 10.0 mmol) in dichloromethane (13 ml). Then 4-bromo-benzoyl chloride (2.19 g, 10.0 mmol) is added slowly. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The reaction mixture is washed with water and 1 N HCl. The organic phase is evaporated to give crude 1-(4-bromo-benzoylamino)-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid amide as light orange solid, which is used as such in the next reaction; HPLC/MS 1.56 min (C), [M+H] 308/310.
