To a solution of (R)-tert-butyl 2-((1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)oxy)propanoate (69.6 mg, 0.239 mmol) in DCM (478 μL) at 0° C. was added methyl hydrazine (12.8 μL, 0.239 mmol). After stirring for 3 h at 0° C., the solids were filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo, affording the title compound (assumed quantitative) as a clear oil.
