(S)-tert-Butyl 2-(2-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-5-yl)morpholine-4-carboxylate (88 mg, 0.22 mmol) was dissolved in dioxane (1 ml) and a solution of HCl in dioxane (4M, 0.66 ml, 2.66 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for 3 h at 60° C. After cooling ether (2 ml) was added and the solid was filtered off. It was washed with ether and dried in vacuo to afford (S)-2-(2-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-5-yl)morpholine hydrochloride (56 mg, 76%) as an off-white solid. MS (ISP): 298.2 ([M+H]+).
