When tert-butyl-5-ethynyl-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxan-5-ylcarbamate was substituted for 1-octyne and the product of Step C was substituted for 5-iodo-2-tritylisoindoline in Example 2, Step D, the similar process afforded the title compound in 90% yield, as light yellow paste. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) 1.43 (s, 3H); 1.45 (s, 9H); 1.48 (s, 3H); 3.94-4.13 (m, 4H), 5.18 (s, 2H); 7.34-7.41 (m, 6H); 7.52-7.55 (m, 1H); 8.12 (b, 1H); 8.37-8.43 (m, 1H).
