A mixture of the product of Step B (0.075 g, 0.14 mmol) and 10% Pd/C (0.04 g) in EtOH (10 ml) was stirred for 16 h under H2. The catalyst was removed by filtration through Celite pad and the filtrate was evaporated to dryness, to give the desired product (0.067 g; 87%), as creamy gum. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) 0.84 (s, 3H); 1.09 (s, 3H); 1.44 (m, 10H); 1.85 (m, 6H); 2.10 (m, 1H); 2.29 (m, 1H); 2.67 (m, 2H); 2.90 (m, 2H); 3.66 (m, 2H); 3.82 (m, 2H); 4.33 (s, 1H); 5.10 (s, 1H); 7.32 (m, 2H); 7.74 (m, 2H).
