Reaction Steps

When the product of Step E was substituted for tert-butyl 2,2-dimethyl-5-((4-octylphenylamino)methyl)-1,3-dioxan-5-ylcarbamate in Example 1, Step B, the identical process afforded the title compound in 21% yield, as a creamy solid. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) 2.31 (broad s, 6H); 2.69 (s, 2H); 2.73 (tr, J=6.5 Hz); 2.86 (tr, J=6.5 Hz); 3.47 (s, 4H); 5.03 (5, 2H); 6.78-6.81 (m, 3H); 6.96-7.02 (m, 1H); 7.12-7.25 (m, 2H, +CDCl3); 7.31-7.36 (m, 1H).
