When the product of Step E was substituted for tea-butyl 2,2-dimethyl-5-((4-octylphenylamino)methyl)-1,3-dioxan-5-ylcarbamate in Example 1, Step B, the identical process afforded the title compound in 71% yield, as a creamy solid. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) 2.5-2.9 (m, 10H+H2O); 3.4-3.6 (m, 4H); 3.72 (s, 2H); 5.01 (s, 2H); 6.6-6.8 (m, 2H); 6.81-6.95 (m, 1H); 7.25-7.45 (m, 5H).
