Reaction Steps
To a sealed tube was added pyridin-3-ylboronic acid 10-4 (25 mg, 0.21 mmol), N-(4-bromobenzyl)biphenyl-4-carboxamide 10−3 (50 mg, 0.14 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (16 mg, 0.014 mmol), saturated Na2CO3 (2.1 mL), ethanol (0.7 mL) and toluene (0.7 mL). The reaction was heated to 110° C. and stirred for 2 hours. After cooling to room temperature, the reaction was diluted into ethyl acetate, washed with brine. The organic phase was taken to dryness by rotary evaporation. The residue was purified by HPLC to give N-(4-(pyridin-3-yl)benzyl)biphenyl-4-carboxamide 10 as off-white solid. MS m/z 385.2 (M+1). 1H NMR 400 MHz (DMSO-d6) δ 9.18 (t, 1H), 8.89 (s, 1H), 8.57 (d, 1H), 8.08 (m, 3H), 7.81 (d, 2H), 7.75-7.70 (m, 4H), 7.52-7.42 (m, 6H), 4.57 (d, 2H).
