Reaction Steps
Prepared as in Example 166d from 2,6-dinitrobenzonitrile and (R)-tert-butyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate in 87% yield as a tan solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 1.39 (s, 9H), 1.82 (m, 1H), 2.02 (m, 3H), 3.32 (m, 2H), 4.08 (m, 1H), 4.32 (m, 2H), 7.79 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.91 (m, 2H).
