To a solution of 4-Amino-5-(((2R,3S,4R)-3,4,5-trihydroxytetrahydrofuran-2-yl)methoxy)-1H-benzo[c][1,2,6]thiadiazine-2,2-dioxide (Example 265a) (7 mg, 0.020 mmol) in dry methanol (1 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid 0.2 mL) and the mixture was refluxed overnight. The resulting solution was evaporated to dryness to provide the title compound as a white powder (7.28 mg, 100%, mixture of diastereomers ˜4/1). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ [3.17 (s, ¾H)], 3.22 (s, 3H), 3.81 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), [3.93 (m, ½H)], 4.12 (m, 3H), 4.39 (m, 1H), 4.71 (s, 1H), [4.85 (d, J=4.0 Hz, ¼H)], 5.44 (br s, 2H), 6.65 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 6.81 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.48 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.95 (s, 1H), 8.41 (s, 1H), 11.00 (s, 1H), [11.01 (s, ¼H)].
