A mixture of trans-4-[(6-nitrothieno[3,2-b]pyridin-7-yl)amino]cyclohexanol (50 mg, 0.2 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (7 mg) in methanol (2 mL) was hydrogenated under balloon pressure of H2 at room temperature for 2 h. The reaction mixture was filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to give the desired product, which was used directly in the next step. LCMS calculated for C13H18N3OS (M+H)+: m/z=264.1. Found: 264.1.
