A mixture of N-{trans-4-[2-(methylsulfonyl)ethyl]cyclohexyl}-6-nitrothieno[3,2-b]pyridin-7-amine (220 mg, 0.57 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (60 mg, 0.06 mmol) in methanol (4 mL) was hydrogenated under balloon pressure of H2 at room temperature for 2 h. The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated to give the desired product, which was used in the next step directly. LCMS calculated for C16H24N3O2S2 (M+H)+: m/z=354.1. Found: 354.0.
