A mixture of cis-4-[(6-nitrothieno[3,2-b]pyridin-7-yl)amino]cyclohexanecarbonitrile (32 mg, 0.10 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (4 mg) in methanol (1 mL) was hydrogenated under balloon pressure of H2 at room temperature for 4 h. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated to give the desired product, which was used directly in the next step. LCMS calculated for C14H17N4S (M+H)+: m/z=273.1. Found: 273.1.
