A mixture of S-({trans-4-[(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)amino]cyclohexyl}methyl) ethanethioate (0.20 g, 0.70 mmol) in methylene chloride (1.6 mL) was treated with trifluoroacetic acid (0.54 mL, 7.0 mmol) at room temperature for 2 h. The reaction mixture was evaporated to dryness to give the desired product (0.21 g, 100%). LCMS calculated for C9H18NOS (M+H)+: m/z=188.1. Found: 188.1.
