A mixture of ethyl 2-azido-7-[3-methoxy-4-(2-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)phenyl]hept-6-ynoate (1.40 g) in chlorobenzene (28 mL) was stirred at 110° C. for 4 hr. The reaction mixture was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (1.34 g).
