A mixture of tert-butyl ({trans-4-[(6-nitrothieno[3,2-b]pyridin-7-yl)amino]cyclohexyl}methyl)carbamate (0.32 g, 0.79 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (0.01 g) in methanol (3 mL) was hydrogenated under balloon pressure of hydrogen at room temperature for 2 h. The mixture was filtered and concentrated to give the desired product (0.3 g, 100%) to be used in the next step directly. LCMS calculated for C19H29N4O2S (M+H)+: m/z=377.2. Found: 377.1.
