Procedure
6-(5-Bromo-pyridin-3-yl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-[1,8]naphthyridine-1-carboxylic acid amide (50 mg, 0.15 mmol), 4-fluorophenylboronic acid (42 mg, 0.30 mmol) and 2.0 M Na2CO3 aqueous solution (0.15 mL, 0.30 mmol) are dissolved in 2.0 mL of 1,4-dioxane. The Argon gas is bubbled through the solution for 5 min. Then PdCl2dppf (7.7 mg, 0.011 mmol) is added. The mixture is heated at 100° C. for 2 hrs before it is cooled down to room temperature. Then 30 mL of DCM and 20 mL of water are added. The organic layer is separated and the aqueous layer is extracted with DCM (2×20 mL). All the organic layers are combined, dried and concentrated to give crude product. Purification by flash column chromatography followed by washing with EtOAc (2×1 mL) affords 35 mg of the titled product.
