The title compound is prepared in >99% yield (3.64 g, a pale yellow solid) from 6-chloro-4-methylpyridin-3-ol (3.00 g, 20.9 mmol) and 3,3,3-trifluoropropan-1-ol (5.72 g, 50.1 mmol) in a similar manner to Step-1 of Intermediate-A17.
