Compounds 158 (101.5 mg, 0.219 mmol) and succinic acid (24.8 mg, 0.219 mmol) were dissolved in CH30H (2 mL) and stirred at room temperature under a N2 atmosphere for about 75 min. The reaction mixture was filtered through a cotton plug and concentrated in vacuo to afford a solid 169 (0.1248 g), mp 81° C. In a qualitative test, this material was water-soluble. HPLC: Inertsil ODS-3V C18, 40:30:30 [KH2PO4 (0.01M, pH 3.2):CH3OH:CH3CN], 264 nm, Rt 7.6 min, 89.8% purity.
