Reaction Steps
1 ml of trifluoroacetic acid is added to a solution of 0.6 g of tert-butyl [3-(pyridin-2-ylamino)propoxycarbonylamino]acetate in 10 ml of dichloromethane. After the mixture has been stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, the solvent is distilled off, and the product is co-distilled with toluene, giving the free acid [3-(pyridin-2-ylamino)propoxycarbonylamino]acetic acid.
