Reaction Steps
Piperidine-4-carboxylic acid [4-phenyl-1-(3-phenyl-propyl)-butyl]-amide (4) (1.00 g; 2.64 mmol) is dissolved in methylene chloride (30 mL) at ambient temperature. 3-Butenoic acid (0.27 g; 3.17 mmol), N,N-diisopropylethylamine (0.75 g; 5.81 mmol) and PyBOP (1.65 g; 3.17 mmol) are added sequentially. The reaction is stirred for 27 hr. at room temperature, then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is purified via silica gel chromatography with gradient elution (70%→90% ethyl acetate in hexanes) affording the desired product (27) as a solid. CIMS (NH3Cl): 447 (MH+)
