A solution of N-[3-((N-benzyloxycarbonylalanyl)amino)-9,10,11-trimethoxy-6,7-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,c]cyclohepten-5-yl]acetamide (70 mg, 0.125 mmol), (prepared as described in Example 1), in ethanol (2 ml) was hydrogenated at atmospheric pressure over 5% palladium on carbon (10 mg) for 2 hours. Ethanol (3 ml) was added and the solution was filtered through diatomaceous earth and the filtrate concentrated under reduced pressure. Trituration with ethyl acetate/diethyl ether gave the title compound (35 mg) as a white solid.
