Procedure

50 mg of Pd/C were added to the solution of 200 mg of ethyl [5-(3-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)-4H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl]acetate in 100 ml of ethanol and hydrogen was introduced into the mixture at room temperature until the theoretical amount had been taken up. The catalyst was then removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated.
